‘The Stranger Pt. 1 & 2’ by Dana Richardson

Richmond Hill, GA Photopoint Gallery is proud to present Far Away, its first-ever group exhibition opening reception on Thursday, September 18, from 5:30–8:00 p.m. Featuring 19 artists spanning Savannah and Richmond Hill, working in photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and jewelry, the exhibition explores the idea of “distance” through a remarkable balance of mediums, textures, and concepts.

Notably, 14 of the 19 participating artists are exhibiting at Photopoint Gallery for the very first time.

“Far Away is about discovery,” says gallery owner Joy Dunigan. “Every artist featured in this show brought their very best work. Each and every piece on view is a show highlight. Overall the exhibition brings an upscale, balanced presentation that is diverse, yet surprising and memorable.”

From Mary Hartman’s organic, textural large-scale Charlotte Sometimes, to Dana Richardson’s vibrant brushwork and bold colors in The Stranger Pt. 1 & 2, they ground the show with natural minimalism, introducing their own brand of energy and depth.

‘MH Violet, Chartreuse, Vermillion’ by William Pagano

William Pagano’s triptych, MH Violet, Chartreuse, Vermillion provides a striking counterpoint—minimalistic and undeniably contemporary, while Alyson Betz’s luminous Here and There captures a fleeting moment of breath and light, and Joshua Yates’s haunting images of abandoned spaces speak to places once alive, now reclaimed by silence.

The sculptural work of Dicky Stone, with flawless craftsmanship and quiet tension, offers both elegance and intrigue, while Brian Condon’s multi-assemblages of antique salvage read as shrine-like, spiritual objects, each with a story pieced together from history itself. Kelly O’Leary’s striking photograph entitled Departure, which was recently included in the 2025 edition of Dodho Magazine’s The Best 100 Monochromatic Images, is center-stage.

Antoine de Villiers’ figurative explorations add diversity in subject matter, and an unexpected, surface-rich abstraction by Jim Cone provides a fresh farewell from his signature style, adding another layer of discovery to the exhibit.
